Founded in 2021 by Whitianga local Watt Matson, the Heavy Gauge Battalion (HGB) has become a local club for good keen people who abide by the club creed of 'hunting, fishing and loving everyday!'. From straight arms to gaffing marine species, the HGB tribe treat themselves to a good time and are unapologetic about the 'kiwi way of life'. 

Following Watt Mattsons joint collaboration with Team Unreel, the HGB became a household name across the Coromandel and now exceeds members throughout Aotearoa.
